About Kutná Hora:

Kutná Hora is a real gem retained the character of a medieval town. In the second half of the 13th century the rich deposits of silver were discovered here and Kutná Hora became the most important town after Prague soon. This is an excellent opportunity to visit the „middle-aged town“ with real jewels of architecture of this historic period. Besides Prague just here the biggest concentration of historical monuments in Central Bohemia is situated. Kutná Hora has preserved its medieval town character to date and is rightfully included on the UNESCO list of the most important cultural heritage of the Czech Republic.

Tour description:

The first stop in Kutná Hora will be a famous and the most visited in recent years Kutna Hora – Ossuary - un unique ossuary decorated with the bones of some 40000 people.

Near the Ossuary, there is located the Unesco Heritage listed Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the oldest temple of the former Cistercian abbey in Bohemia - Sedlec Monastery.

After the visit of the cathedral the bus will take you to the city center of town where you will have a rest and lunch at a local restaurant. Relaxed and refreshed you will enjoy the guided walking tour of the historical center of this “Royal Mining Town “ like f.e. the outstanding example of a gothic architecture St. Barbara Cathedral, one of the most beautiful religious buildings in Europe, Jesuit college, the Castle - Silver Museum, stone fountain - the most beautiful monument of late Gothic domestic architecture, Church of St. John of Nepomuk and Plague Column, the oldest parish church in Kutná Hora - Church of St. James, the former Royal Mint – Italian court, Church of the Mother of God – “ The Mysterious Face of Kutná Hora".

Then we will continue by bus back to Prague.

11,15 a.m. Arrival to Kutná Hora - Sedlec
11,15 a.m. - 12,30 p.m. Visit of the Ossuary Sedlec and Cathedral of the Assumption of Virgin Mary and Saint John the Baptist.
12,30 p.m. – 12,45 p.m. Transfer by bus to local restaurant for lunch
12,45 p.m. – 01,45 p.m. Lunch in local restaurant
01,45 p.m. - 03,30 p.m. Walking tour down the historical center and visit of St. Barbora´s Cathedrale
03,45 p.m. Departure by bus to Prague
